Description

          Manganese Steel (High-Mn) is a conventional material for wear parts with a long history. The wear resistance of manganese steel with austenitic structure is attributable to the phenomenon of work hardening. The impact and pressure load results in a hardening of the austenitic structure on the surface. By the work hardening, the hardness of manganese steel can be changed from initial app. 20HRC to 50HRC. The deeper-set, not yet hardened layers thereby provide for the great toughness of this steel.

          The material grades of manganese steel are available for Mn13, Mn14, Mn18, Mn22, as well as special by Hanlinsky. They are mostly applicable for parts in primary or secondary crushing, such as jaw plates, mantles, bowl liners, hammers, plate liners, or recommended for blow bars of impact crusher when crushing by less abrasive and large feed materials.
